Foil Embossing is the process of creating a raised, foil stamped image. This process results in a true 3D image that is not possible with any other technique. The images below illustrate the difference between a "flat stamped" foil image and a foil embossed image. Both are of the same art, the difference is significant.
Also, this 3D appearance invites touching of the image as the holder instinctively verifies what his eyes see. This is not an insignificant interaction between your client and your organization's identity.

Flat Stamped Foil Image
This version of the logo in two colors is "Flat Stamped" in Medium Blue and Matte Silver.
Foil & Embossed Image
This is the same image as shown above except the medium blue foil has been enhanced with embossing, raising it above the surrounding area.
Foil Emboss Combination Die
With higher quantities it is more cost efficient to foil stamp and then emboss with a single press run using a combination die. This process will foil stamp and embosses the image in a single impression. In smaller quantities it is less expensive to make two dies, one foil stamp and then a separate embossing die. The job is then run in two passes, stamping first then a follow-up embossing run to raise the foil stamped image.
